 Waterfall over the Kondana caves; Karjat
The caves preserve the essence of Buddhism. They retain the wooden interior and octagonal pillars of the Chaitya facade, all which indicate B.C. era antiquity. The deep dense forest and a crystal clear waterfall as its ambience add to its beauty.
Located 10 kms away from Karjat, you pass through a village called Karvandi from where it is a smooth two hour trek through a dense forest.

Prabalgad; 2829 ft.; Karjat
Here, whistling woods, dense jungle, thick karvi bush and fog is what you will indulge yourself into. Prabalgad is located near Panvel. You pass Poinje village and your trek begins. It is a good three hour trek. It has a sprawling plateau at the top, which not only serves the grazing purpose but also for lazing. The view from Prabal is enchanting & mind-blowing, you will be captivated by the beauty.
